Prepay technology has come a long way since the days of singular, isolated systems. In addition to smart meters and advanced networks, many new solutions have made technological strides in connecting to and supplementing enterprise systems, such as the CIS.

With many large utilities looking to implement prepay programs, most are looking to use technologies that will work with new smart metering systems and can easily integrate to enterprise systems. Utilities also are looking for flexible solutions – some may decide to use energy display monitors, while others will opt to forgo this technology. Some utilities may want to use kiosks and payment cards, while others may not.

Prepay: New Technologies will explore newer solutions and how some utilities have implemented and used them.
