ATLANTA – January 26, 2006 – In advancing its mission to facilitate knowledge exchange among utility organizations, Chartwell has enhanced its line up with a new research and information service, Chartwell’s Energy Delivery and Reliability (CEDR) Series.
CEDR will provide best practices research and information on providing safe, reliable electricity to customers, operating energy delivery systems effectively and using technology to its best advantage. As with its other research series, Metering, Customer Care and Marketing/Products and Services, Chartwell will facilitate networking and best practices sharing among members responsible for maintaining a sound and reliable distribution system.
The first report, Asset Management, will be available in February 2006. Additional research reports featuring industry analysis and case studies will be included, in addition to Intelligence Updates that will keep members informed of the latest news and industry happenings in the realm of electricity distribution, reliability standards, outage management and trouble-call response. Occasional audio conferences on CEDR topics will also be offered to Chartwell’s Premier Members at discounted rates.
“Energy delivery and reliability is not new to Chartwell, as we have published several reports on the subject. Launching a dedicated series will allow us to delve further into this vital business area,” said Dennis Smith, vice president of research and information delivery for Chartwell Inc. “Learning from other utilities’ experiences and best practices in a timely manner helps Chartwell’s members succeed.”
Because efficient energy delivery and reliability is vital to customer satisfaction, reporting on this business area seemed the most logical step to add value for Chartwell members as Chartwell’s information service expands, Smith added.
Chartwell recently hired Patricia Irwin, PE, to head up the new CEDR Series. Irwin’s unique professional experience as both utility engineer and industry magazine editor will provide members with a thorough and informed analysis of the topics and evolving issues in the realm of energy delivery.
