Chartwell to honor excellence in assisting low-income customers

ATLANTA – January 21, 2009 – The number of customers needing financial aid to pay their utility bills is growing day by day. Since implementing programs to help these customers is more crucial than ever before, Chartwell wants to acknowledge utilities’ efforts in helping those most in need of energy assistance. The Chartwell Best Practices Award for Serving Low-Income Customers recognizes the most innovative management, customer service and/or communications initiatives aimed at assisting this customer segment in area such as, but not limited to, payment assistance, restoring credit standing or energy management efforts.

 Recognizing excellence among electric and/or gas utilities in serving low-income customers, this 2009 Chartwell Best Practices Award is open to entrants from any size electric, gas or combination investor-owned, government-owned or cooperative utility in North America. Vendors and consultants aiding utilities in energy assistance endeavors also may enter specific utility programs with permission from the utility involved.
 
The award winner will be announced at The Chartwell Best Practices Summit on Serving Low-Income Customers on April 23-24 in Orlando, Fla., and will be recognized in a feature article in Chartwell’s Best Practices for Utilities & Energy Companies newsletter
